The Best Drones for Every Budget 2019

The drone market has experienced a real explosion in recent years. While they were once able to enjoy only researchers and enthusiastic hobbyists, this market segment, thanks to technology advancements and price cuts, is more accessible and popular than ever. Drones are safer, more powerful and cheaper today, but at the same time, some basic rules should be followed. Below is a brief description of these rules and several models of modern RC aircrafts for everyone’s needs

In the course of past years, United States had issued several rules relating to drones. One of them is the Ordinance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems, which in practice defines the flight risk matrix. On one axis is the mass of the aircraft, while on the other there are circumstances (from the area of the flight, through weather conditions, correctness, weariness, etc.).

By the first appearance of this regulatory document, the hobbyists panicked, but in practice they will not have to do anything special in relation to the rest of the whole World (with which the document is aligned). In the first place is the mentioned mass of aircraft, in classes.

What must be kept in mind is that in the smallest class practically all aircraft for consumer goods are included – including one of the most advanced multipurpose today – DJI Inspire from the cover photo. Its mass is less than three kilograms, and with respect this is one of the most advanced drones on market.

In this regard, the following are the best unmanned aircraft cameras and advanced technologies that can be bought today in the world of consumer goods. Some of them are still spinning and are intended for professional and advanced amateur use, while others are meant to discover a wonderful world of flying and create incredible footage.

Most powerful drone in the World

This model is a successor to the top model Inspire 1 and has been improved in every respect. Unfortunately (or maybe better for beginners: lucky) comes with a dazzling high cost of $3.000 US dollars. To whom it is too much and want to try out professional results, the previous model can be found at a discount of $1.200 US dollars for refurbished one, or $3000 US dollars for new.

But to be honest, this drone is really intended only for advanced flyers and for those who know what they are doing – not for beginners. Thanks to the modular design and the advanced system for capturing superior materials, many fliers are a dream come true. As it usually happens with DJI’s products, the Inspire 2 has excellent aerial characteristics and it is possible to navigate peacefully true air independent of speed. The technology ensures that this aircraft can automatically avoid the obstacles on its way, and for management it can be used with planned routes or a hand flight. It is possible to fly up to 27 minutes at one charge. The maximum speed of the drone is 58 mph (94 km/h) and the signal range is up to seven kilometers. Should it even be noted that a special permit is required for such maneuvers? This is not a toy.

Best selfie drone in the World

This is the latest multirotor model from one of the most famous companies dealing with such solutions. DJI Spark is a miniature dimension compared to the mentioned Inspire 2, but this does not diminish the possibilities. Compact Spark is also up to the throat loaded with technologies, and flight characteristics are as expected top-notch.

With a recommended price of $400 US dollars, it is much closer to the consumer world. In addition to all of the above, Spark can also notice and avoid obstacles on the road and is able to independently return to the point of beginning of the flight. Whether it’s a product for wider masses, there are other options, such as the gesture that the spacecraft recognizes and shoots a portrait of the user or simply begins to follow.

At one charge of the battery pack, Spark can fly up to 16 minutes at a maximum speed of 31 mph (50 km/h). The range of the signal is maximum two kilometers.

Best beginners drone in the World

This company has been celebrated by multirotors and aircrafts that can be controlled by Smartphone’s or tablets. Their newer version, Bebop 2, continues this tradition with a relatively acceptable price (it can be found for some $300 US dollars). As expected from such an aircraft, it arrives with the camera, but instead of optical image stabilization, Bebop 2 serves a nice trick – using wide-angle optics and software stabilization (cutting the frame).

Unfortunately, Parrot has locked some of Bebop 2’s special features and for some unlocking it is worth paying more money. These features include flight planning and user tracking functionality on the go, running, and other activities. Flight is possible for up to 25 minutes, although this lightweight aircraft (mass of up to 500 grams) in the air can be kept much shorter in practice.

What makes Bebop 2 great and for beginners is the fact that the range is limited to three hundred meters. Thus many will be distracted from a dangerous flight beyond the visual range.

For those for who is superb video recording just a second thing, and the primary thing is recording a flight with a very compact aircraft, ZeroTech Dobby is a great solution. This multirotor is to be found at a price below $200 dollars and weighs only 199 grams.

It may have a crazy name, but in general terms, the advanced functionality of the aircraft is still there – especially as the manufacturer emphasizes the ‘selfie’ mode of operation. Obviously, Dobby can also track objects around, recognize faces, respond to voice commands, and have a range of audiovisual aids that allow him to fly inside the apartment. Dobby is controlled by a Smartphone and its range is very limited (less than 100 meters). In addition, it is advisable to avoid flying whenever it blows something stronger than the breeze – this drone simply cannot handle it because of the small mass. Small dimensions, unfortunately, mean another thing – a single-charge flight can take up to ten minutes

Best compact drone in the World

Of the other modern devices it is worth mentioning the recently introduced DJI Mavic Pro 2. Before DJ Spark saw the light of day, the new Mavic Pro was the most compact solution of this well-known company.

DJI describes drone Mavic as a superbly compact personalized airborne solution. The mass is just over 900 grams with a retractable design that allows the aircraft to be placed in a backpack. Compact dimensions and in this case can fool the average eye – Mavic can very well use the professionals for their needs, not just the more advanced amateurs. It is full of technology, but it is especially worth mentioning Flight Autonomy, which recognizes obstacles at a distance of 15 meters. Thanks to advanced sensors, the aircraft can circulate around the default target and capture it from all angles, and can track things in motion at a certain speed.

The battery is sufficient for up to 31 minutes of flight, with a range of seven kilometers. The maximum speed of the aircraft is 45 mph (72 km/h), and in addition to three-axis stabilization, the integrated camera can record 4K video material and 12-megapixel photos. As for the top solution, this is the price – from the recommended $1,200 US dollars  upwards (for the sets).

Some of the parameters from the aforementioned regulations and laws will take care of the aircraft itself. DJI’s multi-poles, for example, already conceal protection by which the flight is completely disabled near airports and certain other areas (nuclear power plants, prisons, etc.).

DJI Mavic Pro 2 Specifications

  • Non-modular camera

With that said, respect for the rules does not diminish the enjoyment of the flight, it is about something that should ensure the enjoyment of everyone – how they fly and their safety, as well as the safety of those on the ground.

By the way, though – who is not sure of their skills maybe it’s best to turn to simulators before testing their luck.
